A table story...with biscuits, tea, and tea cookies
It's funny where life takes you.
It's amazing how much things can change in two weeks in our lives, especially in the Lanz household.
My step mom is flying in this Friday from Virginia, so I am thankful for her willingness to help me. There were some things that happened in her life recently that led her to my Mom and somehow, it all worked out for the best that she stays with us for a little while until things get smoothed over in her life.
However, she may come to a house with no table!
Do I mind, not at all! Getting rid of the table was a huge blessing. I know it sounds odd in every way, but really, getting rid of the table led me to a person that has already encouraged me in such a short period of time. I think she's a very special lady. I stumbled across her ad on Craigs list by accident, it was about picking up donations for a program she is running to help battered or homeless women. Somehow we got to talking about our health issues, she has stage 3 liver cancer. I was inspired by her encouraging attitude and opmistic outlook on life.
She shared that she prayed to God for a way to help her since she had no insurance and she had to wait on Gods word for six months before getting an answer that a drug company was going to take care of her, covering all the drugs, treatments, etc. Right at the perfect timing too, because she was running out of time to live. I often know God to always do things at the very last minute.
It is amazing also, how odd it feels in a house without a table, you don't realize how much you really use a table every single day. It was awkward eating dinner and breakfast this morning on the counter top or on the floor. So be sure to pat your table and give thanks for a piece of furniture that gives us so many memories. I already miss my table.

Now I'm curious about your table! Did you sell it? Give it away? How can a family exist without a table to put schoolbooks and such on? ha
I know how our old tables can be...We had bought a new one at Sam's not too long ago since dh had redone our kitchen cabinets etc. The new one was the counter top height, beautiful dark elegant wood, sleek 8 chairs... Wowee right? No, no wowee. I missed my old golden oak table! The counter height was a pain. I couldn't even plunk myself down in a chair any longer to put my shoes on... I couldn't even pull myself up to the table! After a couple of months, I said "phooey!" So did dh! We put our old little country style worn table back together and took that elegant table apart and back into the boxes right back to Sam's. *relief*
I hope you get another nice comfy table. : )
Praying for your step mom too. It sounds like a difficult time for all...God is faithful thought right? : )
God bless you and your family.
I am glad you are following God's guidance and listening to him in every step of the way and oh, how I wish it is my friend that will listen but she doesnt. She prayed and God gave her an answer she doesnt believe in God and she said it is a myth which caused me to be upset because God is our father and creator of all thing is not a myth. Forgive me it is not I that said it but she.
You are a blessing to everyone and I am glad you guys are the one doing the right thing. I hope God will bless you with a new table and keep looking on craigslist for one.
I am praying for your stepmom and family.
wow you do have to be patient sometimes!!
